RHINOPLASTIC AND SEPTORHINOPLASTY

Rhinoplasty is the procedure aimed at correcting or improving the shape of the nose, eliminating unwanted defects in the patient. In case there is a deviation of the nasal septum, with respiratory disturbances, a septoplasty can be combined with the rhinoplasty. Any other respiratory problems, such as hypertrophy of nasal turbinates, may also be corrected through endoscopic approach, often with the support of an experienced ENT surgeon, the otolaryngologist specialist.

This surgery leaves invisible or almost imperceptible scars, because they are inside the nostrils or on the columella, the strip of skin that divides the entrance of the nostrils, an area that heals very well. The operation is performed under general anesthesia, takes just over an hour and the hospital stay is usually one day and one night. The stitches are almost always absorbable and therefore should not be removed.

The respiratory improvement is almost immediate, and the aesthetic result is satisfactory from the early times, albeit altered by the inevitable post-operative swelling, but which tends to largely regress in the following days but completely disappears only within several months.
