LIPOSUCTION

Localized fat deposits, which are not responsive to diet and exercise, can be corrected by liposuction, a mini-access “sculpture” technique. Lipoaspiration can be performed anywhere in the body. The areas where it is most often practiced are the abdomen, the hips, the thighs, and the submental region (chin). The removable fat volume is limited and defined in each case by the surgeon, depending on the characteristics of the district to be treated. The procedure is repeatable.

Liposuction leaves almost invisible skin scars (a few millimeters), located in correspondence with grooves or natural folds that make them even more concealed.

The type of anesthesia (local, spinal / epidural, regional with or without sedation, or general) may, within certain limits, be chosen and agreed by the patient with the anesthetist. The hospitalization can be very short (up to simple outpatient or day hospital treatment).

The patient is dressed with an elastic bandage and wears a removable compressive garment for 1-2 months after surgery. Subsequently specific massages are carried out to regularize and optimize the remodeling result that is seen immediately, but it is best shown after about two months and tends to improve further.
